TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Early reservations are essential. During the high season from November to April and the months of July and August, we recommend reservations be made at least six months in advance.
Deposit and Balance of Payment
A deposit of 50% deposit must be paid in order to confirm your itinerary. Certain hotels may require additional deposits. My Costa Rica Journey will advise the client if any additional amount is required. Balance of payment is due 30 days before arrival date.
Cancellation and Refund
Cancellation must be received in writing a minimum of 60 days prior to arrival. In such cases, your deposit will be refunded, less a handling charge of US$100 per person and any other unrecoverable deposit guarantees to hotels and other services.
If you cancel after making the balance of payment, that portion is refundable according to the following conditions:
For cancellations received 59 to 45 days prior to arrival, 50% of the total amount.
For cancellations received 44 to 15 days prior to arrival, 25 % of the total amount.
If the passenger cancels 14 to 1 day prior to arrival, no refunds are available.
We recommend that passengers purchase a trip cancellation insurance policy.
Modification Penalty
All modification penalty will be according to hotels policy.
Responsibility
My Costa Rica Journey, acts only as agent for the passenger in regard to travel, whether by road, railroad, boat, airplane, helicopter or horse and assumes no liability for injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of defect in any vehicle or for any reason whatsoever or through the act of default of any hotel, carrier, boat, restaurant, company or person, included on the trip, or any other circumstances beyond their direct control.
My Costa Rica Journey, and or its agents can accept no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to the delay or changes in air schedules, special requirements as fever vaccine , theft, loss of (or damage to) baggage or any article belonging to the passengers, sickness, personal health, weather, strikes, fires, explosion, earthquakes, floods, epidemics, pandemic, conditions of trails, river levels, road conditions, transportation delays, wars, accidents, chance, acts of God, major force or other causes. All such losses or expenses will have to be borne by the passenger, as tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time stated.
Many of the activities involved are inappropriate for persons with severe health problems or physical disabilities, which inhibit walking or other activities. It is the passenger” responsibility to judge the appropriateness of these travel activities in regard to his/her physical capabilities. Every passenger must check the level of difficulty rating.
My Costa Rica Journey requires that all participants be covered by appropriated life, accident, and medical insurance and that they be financially responsible for such expenses. My Costa Rica Journey requires that participants planning to operate a motor vehicle overseas to obtain liability and collision insurance that will cover them in Costa Rica. My Costa Rica Journey recommends that all participants must insure their personal property from loss and theft. My Costa Rica Journey is not responsible for any costs or losses resulting from such events.
